Course Description
This is an outline for the unit HLTAID011 – Provide first aid.
The purpose of this information is to take you, step by step, through the requirements of this unit of competency. This information will tell you what you are expected to study, how you are required to study it and how you are going to be assessed (Refer to our Student Guide for First Aid for more information)
Entry Requirements and Enrolments Process
There is no pre-requisite entry requirements for a client to enroll in this course.
- Students must have the physical ability to kneel and perform CPR on the floor uninterrupted for at least two minutes.
- A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). We recommend that you create your USI before you book your course.

**Please Note: Holders of International student visa can enrol in this unit of competency.**
Unit Description and Packaging Rules
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
The course includes training for HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support along with HLTAID011 Provide First aid.
Student profile has been developed following market research and industry analysis and is known to require and benefit from the course described.
There is no other packaging rules for this unit.
Course Duration
HLTAID011 – Provide first aid is delivered over one training day, with pre-reading and written assessment in a single session of approximately 8 hours.
Delivery Method
This course will be delivered using a face to face delivery. The delivery strategy used in this methodology is a combination of pre-self-study and face to face delivery with a direct contact between student and trainer in a practical and simulation environment.
The training delivered during this course will be divided between a classroom or in a simulated environment.
Recognition Prior Learning
Chandler RTO does not provide Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for HLTAID011 Provide First aid.
Credit Transfer
Chandler RTO has an obligation to recognize the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other registered training organizations.
All Applicants are entitled to apply for Credit Transfer (CT) if they meet the CT criteria. All Applicants are informed of their opportunity to apply for CT during the time of enrolment and are formally presented with the opportunity immediately after the enrolment process.
Course Fee Policy and Procedures
Course fee – $110
Chandler RTO ensures all clients are aware of the fees and charges associated with enrolment in a course and/or service at the time of enrolment.
For a student enrolled in unit HLTAID011 refund is only provided if the student is not able to attend the class due to any circumstances.
No refund provided once the student has attended the class. Please refer to our fees and refund policy which provides clear, accessible information to our students throughout their enrolment and/or other services involved during their study.
Course Outcomes
The outcomes of this unit let a student gain skills and knowledge to apply first aid in various settings including in a workplace or a community. Current industry standards state a first aid qualification is valid for a period of 36 months.
After successful completion, you will be issued with a nationally recognized statement of attainment (SOA) for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.
